The Taft Jazz Band is full of enthusiastic musicians who like to work together, be creative, and have plenty of fun jamming! A big band and two smaller bands put focus on technique to produce quality tone and rhythm, soloing, and mastering traditional and contemporary standards for audiences to enjoy during jazz concerts. Jazz Band rehearses and performs a variety of styles of music such as swing, Latin, funk, rock and contemporary. Some of our students also participate in the LAUSD All City Jazz Band. Jazz Band takes place during spring semester 0 (zero) period.
